Financial Manager, Namibia [Permanent]

Excellent opportunity for Namibial Citizens. Join a large and stable company in the financial services industry. Background: Head Office in Pretoria. Be based in Namibia and manage the Financial Department towards achieving its strategic financial objectives through implementation of sound financial principles that are compliant with the relevant legislation.

B.Com Degree or similar qualification.

10 Years broad based financial management experience (post articles) in a financial services industry (banking/insurance)
3 Years experience as Financial Manager.
Knowledge of:
- Generally Accepted Accounting Practise (GAAP) and International Accounting Standards (IAS).
- Relevant financial legislation (e.g. Public Finance and Management Act).
- Financial Modelling.
- Company Business Planning and Business Management Principles.
- Taxation (Company, Personal and VAT).

Manage the functional responsibilities through sound financial principles, systems practices and processes.
Establish, implement and maintain all components/functions of the financial management system as stipulated in the policies and procedures.
Manage the completeness and accuracy of the monthly and other financial statements by ensuring that the information has been verified according to the policies and procedures.
Implement sound financial management by planning, directing and managing activities, ensuring efficient discharge of accounting obligations in line with legislation.
Manage the department by leading and directing the implementation of the strategy and operational plan for the department
Ensure the proper management of financial assets.
Manage the HR of the department with the assistance of the management team and provide the required inputs, evaluations and feedback to ensure the effective functioning of the team.
Oversee the budget process and revise, update and analyse according to the business plan on a regular basis.
